Filipino’s living and working in Australia can directly pay a variety of bills for their family and friends living in the Philippines.
Peppermint Innovation Ltd’s (ASX:PIL) international bill payments service for Australian customers has gone live via its Bizmoto website – www.bizmoto.com.au.
The site, which is principally targeting Filipino’s living and working in Australia, allows customers to directly pay a variety of bills for their family and friends living in the Philippines.
In 2018, The World Bank estimated more than US$1 billion was transferred just from Australia to the Philippines.
Facilitated by ECPay
The direct bill payment and e-Load services are facilitated by ECPay, a leading electronic payment service provider in the Philippines
There are eight major billers available to Bizmoto customers including Globe, Smart PLDT, Maynilad, Cignal, Bayantel, MWSS, Manila Water and Sky Cable, with other billers expected to join the service in future weeks.
Peppermint ultimately has access to about 230 billers through the ECPay service and will increase the number of available billers to Bizmoto customers each month.

The company’s managing director and CEO Chris Kain said: “Our Bizmoto service provides a seamless process for Filipino’s living and working in Australia wanting to pay bills directly to their family and friends living in the Philippines.
“Our customers have told us they want the peace of mind knowing the monies they have transferred go directly to the intended biller. The ECPay arrangement delivers on that request.”
ECPay charges Bizmoto a service fee for all direct bill payments and e-Loads while Bizmoto earns revenue from every customer transaction that is processed.
Targeted marketing planned
Kain said: “A targeted marketing campaign will soon commence to promote the international bill payment and remittance services to prospective Filipino customers in Australia.
“Last year, The World Bank estimated the Philippines was among the top recipients of money transfers globally, with US$34 billion sent home by Filipino migrant workers and others.”
These include bills for power and water, mobile phones and the internet.
